Hello La-Z-Boy team,
I live nearby and pass your store often, especially when getting gas at the station next door. I recently noticed the new “Do Not Drive Through – Private Parking Lot” signs and wanted to share a friendly thought from a neighbor who happens to work in marketing and branding.
Because of the layout of the gas station and proximity to I-5, your lot has naturally become the easiest way for many drivers to exit. That means you’re getting a surprising amount of extra visual traffic, which could actually be a great marketing opportunity.
Instead of signs that discourage people, you might consider leaning into that moment with something playful or welcoming. For example:
• You’ve got your gas — now get a recliner!
• Thanks for passing through! Come inside and see what's new
• Fuel for your car… comfort for your home
Little touches like that could turn an unavoidable traffic flow into a brand moment and maybe even a few extra walk-ins. Right now the signage reads a bit unfriendly, which might unintentionally discourage people from stopping by later.
Of course, I understand you have operational reasons for the signs, but I just thought I’d pass along the idea in case it’s helpful. Your location is in a unique spot to benefit from all that visibility.
Wishing you continued success, and thanks for being part of the neighborhood.
Best,
Kali

My husband and I are extremely pleased with our new La-Z-Boy Meyer sofa. While this sounds like a simple statement, the decision was a complicated one! The primary driver for his decision is comfort, and he’s extremely fussy. I’m all about the aesthetics and décor, and we’re both budget conscious. We visited 10 furniture stores before deciding to purchase the Meyer sofa. I appreciate being able to choose our fabric versus the limited choices from various shades of gray or brown available from many of the stores. I also sincerely appreciated the design service available once we decided to purchase from La-Z-Boy. Marilou at the Tualatin store is a talented designer who considers customer input before making helpful design suggestions. Herb, our design and sales consultant, worked patiently with us during our lengthy decision process. Thank you to you both!

We were greeted by Herb when we walked into the store. He listened to our needs and showed us what we were looking for. He explained how the sleeper sofa worked, what the options were, and how to protect it for 5 years. He was very helpful at check out. He even stayed late to finish our sale. Go see Herb before he retires! Lazy Boy is a great product!

I found the sales staff in this store to be very friendly and helpful and low pressure. I probably would have purchased a loveseat from this store, except there was an 8 week lead time to get the material I wanted. On the flip side, they have tons of fabric colors and patterns to choose from. So if you are willing to wait, you should be able to pick the perfect upholstery color.

We were fortunate to Kassie to help us when we were looking for a reclining chair for my daughter who is a wheelchair user. Kassie spoke directly to my daughter, asking her about her needs and opinions (a rare occurrence as most people assume she cannot speak or understand). Kassie provided her with options and we purchased a chair in the color and fabric my daughter liked along with a left sided remote as she’s a leftie. A great experience, thank you, Kassie!
