- JDJohn doeApr 4, 20261.0This company is a scam. My meter was broken by someone and so they stopped sending me any bills for three months. They ended up telling me that I have the responsibility to protect the meter, which by the way is a damn joke when I’m located in downtown Portland. The real issue is that after the three months they sent me a bill for over 1600 dollars when I average about 200 dollars a month at the most. When I asked how they came up with this number they can’t tell give me a reasonable explanation that makes any sense especially when the meter was broken. If it weren’t for the fact that I really don’t have any alternative companies to choose from, I would have terminated my service with NW Natural long ago.

Update- Excruciating number of irrelevant questions. Drivers license number and SSN? I need a utility, not a passport. Tech service is a joke. 8am-midnight? Unacceptable service.

He spent 30–40 minutes thoroughly checking all gas appliances, pilot lights, the furnace, fireplace, and even the meter outside. He explained everything clearly and made sure we felt safe before leaving. After a stressful experience, his calm, respectful, and knowledgeable approach gave me real peace of mind. This is exactly the level of care you want when it comes to gas safety. Thank you for taking safety seriously and for the work you do every day to keep families safe.
