- RDRyan DeeSep 17, 20251.0Needed 2 tubular locks on a old vending machine opened. They got it open but had to drill the lock. Before he started I asked if it was any more technical than just drilling it out (I was capable of drilling it out), which he replied as if he was going to surgically remove it with more skill. Turns out my 2yr old with a powerdrill and a few bits could have done the same in about the same time. Just drilled with little regard and then charged me $300+ for the service. To top it off, made a large mess of shavings and bits then just left.

The "technician" they sent out had poor communication and comprehension skills. And worst of all, he isn't even licensed in the state of Oregon. KeyMe doesn't require a license to join their list of contractors but Oregon does require a license to perform locksmith services under these circumstances. Unlicensed people providing locksmith services don't have liability insurance so if they damage your property or anything happens, they aren't covered and there is little protecting you and your property. Not to mention the fact that you could be giving access to your home/business/car etc to a potentially unsavory/dangerous character since KeyMe doesn't vet their "technicians". They also state that you get upfront costs for services but I didn't get the price until the end. All in all, stay away from KeyMe and the illicit businesses they utilize. Use a local company like Clark's Locksmith Services, they are professional, timely and honest.
