My experience could have been better as a young customer purchasing furniture for the first time. I bought the Arista 7-Drawer Dresser in cherry brown.
The delivery service at the start was horrible. The crew did not even bother to uncrate the dresser nor helped to put it in place as they were supposed to. They left everything as it was carelessly. As a female who is only 5ft 1in with a father who is not the best health wise, I found this to be very inconvenient and unfair as I already stated these concerns throughout the purchasing stage. We called customer service and spoke to a customer service representative named Nafia (however you spell her name) from the Whitby location to state our concerns. Unfortunately, she was very unsympathetic, rude, blunt, and dismissive to our situation and did not provide any help to solve the problem. Perhaps she did not know the policies well.
We then got in touch with another customer service representative from the Whitby location, which was Heather. She was very nice, understanding, and apologetic to our concerns. Heather worked efficiently to schedule for a new crew to help uncrate and set the dresser in place for the next day. The new crew we received were nice and thoughtful.
Overall, Leon’s has both good and bad team members. So, it’s very important to know what team members you are dealing with in order to have a promising and flawless experience. Buying new furniture should not be nerve wracking. It should be exciting and rewarding.
Unfortunately I had to change my review due to recent purchase interaction with sales person Imad, we purchased a dresser and we were not advised it did not come with a mirror when the reason for purchasing the dresser was the mirror. When we advised him of the situation he stated he told us the dresser did not come with the mirror when he clearly did not tell us this. We are a long time shoppers with leons and spent significant money renovating 2 houses. But after this even I will take my business elsewhere from now on. I was coming in today to purchase items to renovate both my kids rooms but I will go somewhere else.

Save Yourself the Headache. Avoid Leon’s Whitby at All Costs.
I drove through a storm on December 26th because our fridge died on Christmas Day. We were desperate to replace it quickly, and I made it crystal clear to the sales associate that we needed the fridge delivered no later than the end of the weekend, since no one would be home after that.
To prevent any issues, I even went the extra mile and gave them the exact doorway measurements, knowing we’ve had delivery problems in the past. They also instructed us to remove all the doors from the old fridge and shut off the water line beforehand, which we did, expecting everything to run smoothly.
We bought groceries assuming the fridge would arrive Friday as promised.
Then everything fell apart.
Despite telling them repeatedly that this delivery required three delivery people (a detail they acknowledged), Leon’s didn’t communicate anything. The delivery team showed up with only two people and, surprise they couldn’t complete the delivery. The entire trip became pointless.
I called the sales associate, and instead of urgency or accountability, I got excuses and a pushed delivery date. Their idea of compensation for wasted groceries, a missed day of work, and the inconvenience of having no fridge? $50. A joke.
There was no ownership, no remorse, no effort to make it right. The only thing that seemed to matter to them was the sale, not the customer who trusted them.
If you’re considering Leon’s, especially the Whitby location, do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. Mistakes happen, but this wasn’t a mistake , it was avoidable incompetence from start to finish. Expectations were clearly set, instructions were followed on our end, and they still dropped the ball completely.
Never again
A big thank you to Ochie at Leon’s in Whitby! I waited outside in the cold on Boxing Day for the store to open to receive the best service once I was let in. I do not regret waiting outside for my newly purchased reversible sectional. From a great listener to a very pleasant conversation, he patiently answered all my questions and explained all the information I needed to understand. Thank you Ochie for your attention and patience, it was a big purchase and I am walking away happy and with a peace of mind.

I won't shop at Leon's again. I felt like I was swindled and I really needed to make the purchases I did, but the sales guy was very quick to change the subject when I asked about the financing or any attempt for me to see the actual break down of the price. Given what I was purchasing I knew it was going to be expensive, but what I didn't realize was he was adding in extras, that I thought was free, such as mattress covers, but then when I saw the breakdown they were $120 each, as well as pillow covers. IF I had known they weren't thrown in as a bonus, like he implied, I wouldn't have bought them. so there was an extra $500 just in upsales. He rushed through the payment process just so that we wouldn't see this. My bad for being too nice and not pushing back, but I'll never shop there again. As well, the financing is a big scam. they add in a fee to set it up, as well fail to tell you that some of the purchase price isn't part of the promotion, so I just got hit with a notice saying that if I don't pay $1500 by Jan 6th, I'll be paying interest on that. (Also to add, I made the 1500 payment, but it was not applied to the "non-promotional balance", only to the promotional balance, which is 0% interest. I'll now have to work with the financing company, or I have to pay the balance in full to avoid the high interest fees. Which makes the point of paying the service charges, plus the extra $$ in pillow cases and mattress covers, ridiculous" scammy...this should be made all very clear. I still don't have my whole order either, only some was delivered.
