    It really drives me crazy that I work at MY job all day, then come home to a project to work on, and then need to run to Lowe's and I have to check my items out myself. All the meanwhile no one greets me, asks me if I need help, or is friendly in any way. Why isn't there at least one lane with a checker? I needed some cement and the cement isle was closed off. This is one store I will never return my cart to the cart return. Maybe someone will work there.

    I had a genuinely great experience at Lowe’s Home Improvement, and I specifically want to call out Hazel for going above and beyond. We came in needing a board cut, and right when we walked in, we let an associate know what we needed. My mom has a foot injury and can’t stand for long, so while we weren’t rushing aggressively, we were definitely trying to keep things moving. He acknowledged us, and we headed to the back. After waiting a bit, we saw Hazel working—he was clearly busy handling what looked like order prep or combining materials for customers. What stood out immediately was how focused and thorough he was. He wasn’t just going through the motions—he was doing the job right. We stopped him and asked about getting our board cut. You could tell he genuinely wanted to help us himself, but instead of cutting corners, he was honest and said he wasn’t certified to do the cut. That level of integrity matters. A lot of people might have just tried anyway, but he didn’t. He respected the process and still made helping us his priority. Without hesitation, he went to find someone who was certified. Within a few minutes, he came back with help. I even overheard a manager verifying the other associate’s experience before they made the cut, which tells me Hazel communicated the situation properly and made sure it was handled the right way. The cut was done perfectly—exactly how we asked. What really stuck with me is that Hazel didn’t just “pass us off” and disappear. He made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. That’s real customer service. When we asked who helped us, they mentioned he was new—which honestly made it even more impressive. If that’s how he performs early on, that says a lot about his work ethic and attitude. Hazel deserves recognition. He was professional, honest, proactive, and clearly cares about doing things the right way—not just quickly, but correctly. That kind of employee makes a real difference, especially for customers who need a little extra consideration like we did. Give that man some credit—he earned it.
