I had a great experience at Lowe’s thanks to Paul in the garden/plant department. He was friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful when I was looking for a houseplant. I ended up getting an Aglaonema (which I’ve named Léon!) and Paul took the time to explain care tips, watering, and placement so I felt confident taking it home.
It makes a huge difference when someone actually listens and helps. Especially with plants! Thank you, Paul!

DO NOT SHOP AT LOWE'S. I used to rely on Lowe's for all of my home improvement things, but lately, it feels like all businesses have been dropping the ball on their customers. I ordered a washer and dryer on 12/13/2025 as a birthday/Christmas gift for my mother-in-law, and they were delivered on 12/16/2025 (10 days ago), and the dryer arrived severely damaged, but the LOWE'S DELIVERY GUY and whoever he called said that it would work fine. Well, she's been having to come over to my house to dry her clothes, because surprise surprise, the thieves at Lowe's sold us trash. I was willing to return it and get a different one for a higher price, but I'll never trust Lowe's again. My options? I have to pay $120 for a repair guy to come out and "fix" it, when it shouldn't be having any problems being just 10 DAYS OLD. Are you willing to admit to everyone that you just sell trash, Lowe's? Because that's what I'm going to be telling everyone. THANKS SO MUCH FOR RUINING MY HOLIDAYS.
***The picture doesn't do it justice, but if you really want to experience the extent of the damage, you should watch it while it's trying to run.

I used Lowe’s PROfessional installation for a wood privacy fence, and unfortunately the experience was far below what I expected. Materials were delivered to my home in early September. Installation was supposed to begin the following Monday, but when the installer arrived, the utility lines had not been marked — something that should have been coordinated by either Lowe’s or the contractor. Because of this, the installer did not begin work until Wednesday.
From there, progress was extremely slow. The installer typically worked only 2–4 hours and then left for the day. By the end of the first week, only the posts were set, and the project was nowhere near completion.
When the fence was finally marked as “finished,” I found numerous problems:
• Nails protruding through 2x4s, creating a safety hazard for my children
• Cracked pickets and 2x4s
• A cracked gate support post
• Rough, splintered cuts on multiple 4x4 posts
• Overall inconsistent craftsmanship
I contacted Lowe’s more than a dozen times trying to get these issues addressed. It is now mid-December, and while the fence is technically “finished,” several cosmetic flaws remain. I plan to fix these myself because I do not trust the contractor to improve the situation without causing more damage.
I cannot recommend Lowe’s or their “PROfessional” installer RE Conners. The poor communication, slow pace, lack of accountability, and subpar workmanship made this one of the most frustrating home improvement experiences I’ve ever had.
UPDATE: Addition information from initial experience and after this initial review.
During the consultation with Lowe’s staff I requested a transition from 6ft to 4ft due to zoning restrictions on my corner lot. This was not included with the blueprints provided to RE Conners so my fence jumps from 4ft by the curb to 6ft. It looks a bit ridiculous.
After the initial installation which took almost 2 weeks to complete. The leftover material which I purchased was left outside of the fence, next to the curb. Due to it being material I purchased and being left by the sidewalk, I tossed it all over the fence. A day or two later, the installer with RE Conners came to my residence and stole all of the left over material. Which is a theft. I notified Lowe’s of the theft as well as the many initial issues and safety hazards.
During this installation multiple district managers came to my house from RE Conners and at one point, the district manager sent his employees home due to their attitude and performance.
UPDATE ON CONTACTING LOWES:
Contacted Lowe’s for reimbursement, initially the customer service representative offered me a $100 gift card to Lowe’s for all of the trouble. After explaining to her the $100 gift card was insulting, she advised someone else would call me writhing 5 business days. After no phone call was received, I called back and they offered me a $400 gift card to Lowe’s.
This fence project cost me over $8000 and took 3 months to complete. I had to call off/request time off work to be present at home all the days installers would be at my home. Some days they never even showed up.
I am very disappointed with Lowe’s customer service and their PROfessional installation services.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
