I was supposed to get a camera scan of the inside of the flue. But the technician saw that the flue was not safe and he did not charge me for the scan. Quality and ethlical work.

Due to the recent winds that we had, I had Whempys come out to take a look at my chimney pipe to endure that it didn't move or need caulked so that we don't have water damage in the future. They came out right away and checked everything out in a timely manner. This is a great company to work with.

Pat was helpful and patient answering all of my old home chimney questions. He was on time, and was honest that we didn’t need a cleaning. Will definitely be calling Whempys again!
Frequently Asked Questions About Whempys Chimney Services
Why should I have my chimney inspected?
The National Fire Protection Association recommends annual inspections of chimneys, fireplaces, and vents. This ensures they are sound, free from deposits, and have correct clearances. Regular inspections allow for timely cleaning, maintenance, and repairs. Even unused fireplaces can accumulate nesting material from small animals and birds, potentially causing issues.
How often should I have my fireplace cleaned?
According to the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), your chimney should be cleaned when there's 1/8 inch of sooty buildup inside. If any glaze is visible in the flue, cleaning is necessary even with less buildup. Accumulated soot and creosote can fuel a chimney fire, potentially damaging the chimney and spreading to your home.
What is creosote?
Creosote is a highly combustible, corrosive, and sticky substance. It forms when volatile gases, produced by burning wood or coal tar, combine and condense at temperatures below 250F.
