Frequently Asked Questions About Perry Window Cleaning
How much do you charge?
Our pricing is competitive and comparable to other companies in Springfield, OH. Running a legitimate business requires covering employee wages, taxes, and insurance, which creates costs that may not be immediately apparent to customers. Business owners understand that the first portion of each work week goes toward covering these essential expenses. When an employee earns $10.00 per hour, the actual cost to the employer is approximately $14.00 to meet legal requirements, plus additional costs for any benefits provided. If you encounter pricing that is significantly lower, consider this a warning sign. Price alone should not be your only consideration - trust and quality service provide substantial value. We provide complimentary estimates with no pressure whatsoever.
Do you offer discounts of any kind?
We do provide discounts for customers who schedule regular service after their first cleaning. Our pricing structure is time-based, and we can clean windows more efficiently when they have only three months of dirt buildup compared to twelve months of accumulation.
How often should I have my windows cleaned?
Residential: The frequency is your choice, and we provide services throughout the year, though we will not access frost or snow-covered roofs for skylight cleaning. To prevent glass deterioration, most customers schedule annual or semi-annual cleanings as a minimum. Some prefer service 3-4 times yearly to maintain clear views and keep their home looking well-maintained. Commercial: Most business customers maintain a professional appearance with monthly cleaning at minimum. Many choose bi-weekly service, while high-traffic businesses maintain their professional image with weekly window maintenance. Large facilities with extensive glass surfaces may select quarterly, semi-annual, or annual service to stay within janitorial budgets. Many customers prefer three cleanings per year instead of quarterly to avoid the harsh winter months, scheduling for March, July, and November, which has become increasingly popular for larger projects.
Do I have to be home to receive a quote?
Your presence is not required for us to provide a quote. We can typically walk around your property and calculate the estimate, then email detailed information to your designated email address. However, we may not be able to identify all windows or skylights that are obscured by rooflines or landscaping during our walkthrough. Additionally, we cannot assess interior glass, French doors, mirrors, or other interior surfaces you might want included in the service without access to the interior.
What if it is raining on my cleaning day?
We will contact you on the morning of your scheduled cleaning day, even if rain is already occurring, and you can decide whether we should proceed. In most situations, we continue with the service since most homes have overhangs that protect windows from light rain. Rain does not spot clean glass, but it will disturb dirt patterns on dirty windows, which is why people often say windows cannot be cleaned in the rain. The reality is that you can clean windows in the rain, but homeowners prefer to avoid getting wet during the process, which is understandable. If rain is too heavy or blowing sideways, we can usually clean the interior first and return for the exterior when rain stops, possibly on a different day for all-day rain events. Since our schedule runs quite tight eight months per year, rescheduling exterior-only cleaning is much easier than rescheduling complete interior and exterior service. As mentioned, you make the final decision, and we ask for your patience as rescheduling may require waiting several weeks in some cases.
How high do you go for cleaning windows?
We service windows up to three stories high. Most homes in our area are two stories, but house design and landscaping can effectively make second-story windows equivalent to three-story height. We utilize 100% pure water cleaning systems for exterior glass and can safely and effectively clean up to 40 feet from ground level with this equipment. In 2010, we invested in a pure water fed pole system that allows us to reach very high and difficult-to-access glass from the ground, including solariums, atriums, and skylights. This environmentally friendly cleaning method uses 100% pure water, leaving no soap or chemical residue, which helps glass stay clean longer - a beneficial outcome for everyone.
Should I have my windows cleaned before selling my house?
Definitely, and while you might expect this response from a window cleaning company, consider the evidence from independent sources. A survey of 2,000 real estate agents conducted by homeagain.com and featured in Money Magazine identified professional window cleaning as one of the most cost-effective and high-return investments for preparing your home for sale. According to Money Magazine, professional window cleaning provides the highest return on investment among all pre-sale improvements, delivering a 769% return on investment, making it a virtually guaranteed investment.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards for our services. For credit card payments, we can email your invoice with a secure payment link that you can use from your computer. Our service crew can also process payments, including credit cards, at the time of service.
Can I just get the outside of my windows cleaned?
You may choose exterior-only cleaning, but we strongly recommend cleaning both sides of your windows. It can be difficult to determine which side has dirt or smudges, both for our cleaning team and for you when evaluating the results. Cleaning both sides ensures the highest quality results. Streaks or dirt on the opposite side of the glass can be misleading. Customers are often surprised by how clean windows appear when professionally cleaned compared to using household products like Windex and paper towels, or cleaning by maid services. One exception applies to regular customers who schedule cleaning several times yearly - they often have exterior cleaning performed more frequently than interior cleaning.
Is there anything I need to do prior to your arrival on my cleaning date?
No preparation is required for successful window cleaning, as we will move items, window coverings, and furniture as necessary to access your windows. However, there are optional steps you can take for the most efficient and highest quality service. You may choose to relocate items from windowsills to other locations, particularly collectibles or fragile items you prefer to handle personally. You might also trim plants or trees away from windows and walls, both exterior and interior, to provide easier cleaning access and prevent glass damage from wind-blown branches. These preparations are optional, but please do not hose down the windows beforehand, even if you think you are helping by removing dirt, cobwebs, and debris from the glass. Tap water, including softened or city water, leaves mineral deposits when it dries. These minerals can bond to the glass over time and become difficult or impossible to remove.
