  I went out to the Painesville Ohio location to conduct an annual inspection on their fire extinguishers. The facility was very clean and the manager David was very helpful with everything I needed. If I ever had the need, I would have no apprehension whatsoever to store my belongings at this facility!

  Christian was very professional and friendly. The whole visit ran smoothly. The one negative point was that I received pricing through a text message that was lower than when I came in and what the actual pricing was so you guys need to get your numbers together

  David was so much help, very patient and knowledgeable. He explained everything and made sure we were comfortable with how to access both the building and our unit.

  For those who care about measurements. The metal frame is about 4”. So you loose about 4” on each wall. ORIGINAL 2/10/26 : First off let’s start with the employees - I was doing the process online and then my laptop decided it wanted to die and I couldn’t get back to the application. Therefore I had to call the location. A gentleman by the name of David helped me. He seemed like a friendly person! He finished my application and even offered me up to 6 months at the promotion rate! Otherwise the promotion rate is good for 3 months. Most storage locations after the promotion period raise the rate anywhere between 10-40%. I am not sure about this one as I have not got there yet! Then 3 days later I started having an issue with the app and it kept saying to call the location. I called again and got Emily. She checked and reassured me that everything was active and she was NOT sure why I was getting that message. I hung up and called the 800 # to be told “because I have a VPN on my devices that was the problem”. No problem! I did NOT go look at this place before starting the process online! I won’t say it was a bad thing but if you are the type who are iffy then I would suggest you look first! Do I regret? What I will say is there possibly old water damage or the metal frame is extremely scratched from top down! The Facility itself - it’s pretty big and seems to be maintained. There is a keypad that unlocks the door. Normally there is 2 carts on the inside that you can load and wheel to your unit - makes moving easy because you can load it up and shorten # of trips! On move in day there was 2 people moving out. So, if you want to unload by door than you may be waiting as the unloading area fits 2 cars. If you buy a lock from Extra Space they place it inside the unit for you. This location uses a cylinder style lock - that goes inside the opening! Understand that every one has different standards and needs. I decided I was going to sweep the unit before moving in. The person who cleans this location had asked me if it was dirty? I explained I am OCD and I was good! She then offered me a dustpan and I declined as I was already prepared! Was it dirty? It wasn’t spic and span and it wasn’t atrocious. One thing I did find different from a different storage company I used prior is that Extra Space lights are only in the hallway and not across the units itself. The lights are motion sensor. Also another thing is Extra Space has openings at the top sides with metal frame going across . So, if the unit next to yours is filled floor to top you can see what’s over there. I understand it being opened at the top for ventilation but again a prior storage company I used before had solid side walls with the opening at the top!
