  5/27/25, I hired Northshore Landscape Design to spray weeds to my flower bed, level area add top soil seed apply penn mulch or section of straw mat owner chooses. 7/21/25 Northshore Landscape Design came to my house unannounced to do the work on my flower bed. I had not heard from anyone from the company in 2 months and was surprised when they showed up at my house unannounced. They put down straw, and gave me no choice to put down what I wanted, which was the penn mulch. The same day, I emailed the owner, Jeff Modock and let him know the situation. His administrative support, Suzanne Roth was the one who replied to the email. She informed me, "Apparently there was miscommunication with the owner and the job foreman about a job and they weren't supposed to do your job that day. They weren't able to due the job they had scheduled due to a scheduling error. They did your job that day because they had workers available." The original price in a written quote was $858.60. Because of the error and inconvenience on their part, we started negotiations. We negotiated a price of $669.60. She asked if I could provide my email and phone number so she could send the link to pay online. 7/30/25, I sent her my email address and my phone number. 8/4/25, Suzanne sent me an email saying she sent the link and asked if I received it, I did not. I called Suzanne Roth on 8/19/25 and gave her my credit card number. She said my card would be charged for the amount agreed upon. 8/21/25, I received a text message from my credit card company, informing me there was a charge of $858.60 from North Shore Lan and it was declined. I also received an email on 8/21/25 from Suzanne Roth letting me know, "I got a message that my account can't accept that card." She tried 2 times on 8/19/25 and once on 8/21/25 to charge my card for the full original amount for the invoice of $858.60. I am confused as to why she tried to charge my card for the original invoice price, when we negotiated and agreed upon a lower price. She wanted me to send her the amount of the invoice to her personal Venmo. In turn, she said she would pay the company. If I were to pay her through her personal Venmo, who is to say she would pay the company? The owner of the company and his employees lack communication and professionalism. Stay far away from this company.

  This snow season has been really crazy, and Dan has made the best of it. He kept open communication for the first big snow storm, and he was quick to clear the snow again for the second one. My business’s parking lot and sidewalks are now safe for my clients. Thank you!
