By December 2024, my rate had increased from $77/mo to $103/mo!!! While I was not happy with the increase, I figured it was worth it since I had experienced no issues with the staff or facility at that point. Fast forward 9 months later to September 2025 and my rate was jacked up to $149/mo!!!! This is for a 5x15 unit. Mind you, I can go online and book that same unit for about 1/3 of that cost!!! I called and spoke with Chey (I apologize as I may have the spelling of her name wrong) on 10/29 and explained that I was frustrated with the price basically doubling in less than a year. I was given the standard, highly scripted response of "inflation and market pricing" being responsible for the increases. While I understand slight increases, doubling in less than a year is excessive. (Have everyone's wages doubled in a year?!) When I pointed out that I came from a prior storage unit facility that charged me $50 for 2 straight years with no contract and the same month-to-month payment model, she responded that I needed to remember the reasons I left that storage facility. (Funny thing is that I left that unit for this location because it was about 5 minutes closer to my house...that's it. I was actually VERY happy with the pricing AND customer service there, but I liked the prospect of the facility being just down the road from me.) While I understand that the local store management say they have no control over the pricing, it is negligible at best to market units to people at one price to get them in the door and then continuously increase the price once they have all of their stuff there, knowing most people won't/can't easily move everything out. I am considering contacting the Ohio Attorney General at this point regarding the pricing because it is clearly deceptive. While I have had an overall pleasant experience with the staff here and loved that it was a woman-run business, I don't think I will be staying here much longer. The pricing issue screams of corporate greed and price gouging, simply because they can. (I should have checked Reddit before renting a unit here as they are FULL of stories of people being ripped off with price increases constantly.)
