At one point my lock was cut off, because the office thought I didn't pay rent, and when questioned I was told "oh, yeah, we made a mistake." I have no clue how long my unit had no lock, but several thousand dollars of tools were stolen.

The area, the staff and the convenience of the stowage was all a walk thru the park.
