If I could give Lowe’s zero stars, I would. My refrigerator purchase turned into a month long nightmare of misinformation, finger-pointing, & complete disregard for the customer.
I purchased a refrigerator from Lowe’s, paying extra for installation and haul-away of the old unit. When the delivery crew arrived on October 10, they suddenly announced they “don’t touch copper wire,” which is what my water line uses. At no point during the purchase, checkout, or confirmation process was this ever communicated. Had I known, I would have prepared for it ahead of time or not gone through with the purchase.
As I was grabbing my tool to disconnect the line myself, the delivery crew told me it was “taking too long” and that they had other deliveries to make. Instead of completing the job I paid for, they moved the fridge, still fully boxed, into the garage & instructed me to make a new installation appointment.
To make matters worse, after they left I realized the leatherman multitool I had been using was missing. I even texted the driver to ask if it had been picked up by accident, but never got a response.
Because of multiple scheduling issues with Lowe’s, it took weeks to get another installation appointment. When the installers finally came back and unboxed the fridge, there was a large dent and a long crease running down the side near the motor. They immediately took photos & told me to contact Lowe’s for a replacement.
Lowe’s then claimed it was “past the window” & told me to contact the manufacturer instead. The manufacturer, after hearing the full story, told me it was Lowe’s responsibility. When I went back to Lowe’s with that response, they pushed it off again on to the manufacturer. I was literally being bounced back & forth while nobody took the time to really empathize with my situation. I have a refrigerator in my garage not able to use it for the past month. Lowe’s took a case # to the warehouse manufacturer. I was told I was going to be contacted within 24hrs. Not only was I not contacted I had to contact them multiple times to realize they closed the case without even speaking to me.
I explained repeatedly that the damage was not found earlier because Lowe’s & their failed installation caused. Lowe’s own delivery crew left the refrigerator boxed in my garage. Lowe’s still refused to help, saying “policy” prevented them from doing anything. I gave 3 suggestions 1) a 3way call with the manufacturer… only to then tell me they “don’t do conference calls with third parties.” 2) exchange it for another & 3) just take back the damaged appliance & return my money. They refused all 3.
So here I am: after paying for the product, paying for installation, dealing with incorrect information, delays, a damaged refrigerator I didn’t even unbox, & 2 companies pointing fingers at each other, Lowe’s solution is essentially: too bad, not our problem.
This experience has been unprofessional, infuriating, & astonishingly dismissive. I’ve been a loyal Lowe’s customer for years, but after this, I will be taking my business & my recommendations—elsewhere.
Save yourself the headache. Buy your appliances from literally anywhere else.

Paint department SUCKS. Asked the nasty employee for help and she pointed and asked if I had looked at the chips 🙄. Got my color, stood at the counter more than 10.minutes while she walked the aisle putting things away (having looked at me) . Then FINALLY walked up and in an annoyed voice said, "What do you need?" ( Hmmmmm.....🤔🤔PAINT!!) She took my color, walked away and mixed it without asking what finish I needed etc. All this while I waited on the phone after calling the store to get help. I stopped counting at 50 RINGS!!

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
