  John at this location was so genuinely warm that it made me thoroughly enjoy purchasing under bed storage. Just a lovely person with lovely energy. We need more people like him in retail - please give John a raise immediately!

  In retrospect, I needed to take responsibility for my own oversight, which is why I'm extremely grateful to Ben, Dave and the 6th Avenue team for stepping in and helping me order bins for my dad. The issue was I ordered bins online to pickup in store and missed the phone call saying they didn't actually have lids for the bins I bought. My boyfriend showed up ready to pick up bins and found no lids for the bins. Nothing comparable (pricewise) instore so he left. I had to pick a whole other set online and that started to become a task, so, Dave and Ben helped out. Ben helped me finalize the entire purchase and again, thank you so much for your patience and professionalism. I O U big time, thank you.

  The Container Store on 6th Avenue is a useful destination for organizing a New York apartment. There are always several helpful employees who will take the time to work through an organizational challenge and find a truly optimal solution. The product selection remains a major draw, particularly their stacking shelves and other closet organizing items, which I haven't found anywhere else in a comparable quality. It is also an excellent spot for gift wrap, gift bags, and all the related accessories you might need. Because of the vast array of bins and systems, it really is a perfect first destination after any move to get a new space in order. The prices are on the higher side compared to other big box stores, but the quality generally justifies the cost if you are looking for long-term solutions.

  Very disappointed. I had an Elfa custom floater designed here. I started to install it an found out they ASSUMED I had a 3” baseboard when it was 6”. So I had to haul 50 pounds of metal on the subway to have it recut. They were unapologetic about their mistake. Own up! This cost me my whole Saturday!
