  Avoid LI Marble Dusting – $19K Mistake What started as a great experience with Kathy and Blake turned into a $19,000 nightmare. Within days of completion, I had black stripes above my tile and a dark ring on the waterline that needs scrubbing every few days. Based solely on photos, Blake blamed “runoff” from my 23-year-old patio and coping — even though we’ve never had runoff before — and suggested I brush it with “magic acid." Kathy claimed they’d “never seen this before” and tried to blame light drizzle and my old coping. If rain or 23-year-old coping were truly the cause, why is the problem still happening weeks later — and why did it never occur in the decades before their work? When I pressed her to see the issue in person, she promised to come by. Four weeks later: nothing. Three independent pool and product experts agree the real cause is obvious — they used marble dust above the tile, which is meant to cure under water. Dry application causes poor curing and leaches color. Now I’m stuck spending more money to remove, replace, or seal their defective work. Unprofessional communication, zero accountability, and work that created a problem I never had before. I regret hiring them.

  LI Marbel Dusting did our pool a few weeks ago and we are really impressed. They communicate extremely well regarding the scheduling of the work and all the decisions that need to be made. They work hard, pay close attention to detail and our pool looks great!

  What a wonderful experience! This was the third time we had to do our pool over due to incompetent pool companies we used in the past. We were so upset when we had to do the pool over for a third time. However, Kathy and George and all of the workers at LI Marble Dusting did an excellent job. The pool looks beautiful and the marble dusting job is so smooth it feels great when you walk. So far we continue to hold water and the pool is running well. We would highly recommend this company to all!

  This is such an honest and reliable family owned company. Kathy was SO incredibly helpful through the entire process of our pool renovation. She would either answer her phone or return my calls right away. She never minded answering questions or explaining a process step by step ( or re-explaining!). Once on the job George and his crew were so organized and neat. They arrived promptly every morning and each person was doing whatever needed to do done the entire time they were at my house. At the end of each day they left the area “broom clean” as described in the contract. George was honest about all work that needed/did not need to be done which I really appreciated. Our gunite pool was built in 1984 and this was the first renovation of it so it was a huge transformation. They redid the plumbing, skimmers, coping, tile, and also marble dusted my pool. We get tremendous complements - our mason doing work around it could not even get over how amazing it came out. I would highly recommend this company to anyone and everyone!
