- TPTaylor PeetsNov 21, 20251.0I purchased a storage unit on December 12th 2024 and my monthly payment was $172.00 that I signed up for. I then payed January and February of 2025 at $172.00 . Starting in March 2025 my payment increased to $272.00 and I immediately called the manager who stated that because the promo rate was over it increased and that would be my new monthly rate. I asked him if he could lower it because I didn't realize I was signed up for a promo rate and he agreed to lower it to $212.00 starting next month in April 2025. I continued to pay $212.00 for April, May, June, July, August and September 2025. I was then charged $300.00 for October and November 2025. I called the business to let them know my payment was increased and asked why? I never received and email or a new contract to sign. The manager stated on the phone that a postcard was sent out for the new monthly payment and because it was not returned they can increase my monthly bill. Not even a letter but a postcard that ANYONE can read and that you can't put my legal info on because it is not enclosed or secure. I never received a postcard in the mail and I let him know. I asked if I could receive my monthly payment of $212.00 again and he stated no. I canceled my Insurance on my belongings at $26.00 and the new payment he could drop me to would be $236.00. I don't believe that this is fair and I believe it is illegal as well. I never signed a new contract. I haven't had the unit for a year and the price has increased twice without my authorization.
