From the beginning, I was told the total cost would be around $295, including a $50 service fee just for coming out. Fortunately, he was not able to charge me the full amount since he couldn’t open the door—but he still charged me the $50 service fee. The technician spent about an hour trying to open my door and repeatedly insisted that he might have to break the lock or even the door. I had never heard a locksmith say something like that as a first option, which was very concerning. Despite claiming he had many years of experience, it honestly did not feel like he knew what he was doing. Not only was he unable to open the door, but he also ended up damaging part of my door (a plastic piece on the frame), which I now have to repair myself. What’s most frustrating is that after all that time, he left without solving the problem and still charged me. The next morning, I called a different locksmith who opened my door in less than 5 minutes, without causing any damage, and without needing to break anything. He charged me $150 for the completed job. The difference in professionalism, skill, and approach was huge. I strongly recommend looking for a different locksmith.
