As I was walking into Hobby Lobby, I was browsing the shelves outside with my son when a man dressed all in black (possibly loss prevention, based on his behavior) approached and started watching me closely. He then continued to follow me around the store—not directly, but always just a few feet away—which made the entire experience uncomfortable. I picked up the items I needed and went to the register. After placing everything on the counter, the cashier (named Conner) loudly questioned whether a toy my 3-year-old had with him belonged to the store or to us. The toy wasn’t even packaged, and to make matters worse, I was already purchasing a toy for my son and had handed it to him to ring up. When I said “excuse me,” he tried to brush it off by saying they sell similar toys, but he never apologized for the assumption or the way he handled the situation. No matter your color or even your attire, no one should ever have to experience this
