I’m in town helping my son re-roof his home. Roofing is a bit different to Saskatchewan. The contractor staff was super knowledgeable and advised us on everything we needed to get the job done right. The Story:
Visit Rona Halifax store to purchase a drain snake for a clogged sink drain, looking for help but no one around. Grab a 50 ft one on my own and turn out it’s too thick to feed into the drain hole, the handle is extremely difficult to rotate. Bring it back to the store same day, cashier unable to process due to return require manager approval. Waiting for store manager for a few minutes but no one shows up. Cashier then called someone else for approval. Tony J shows up and refused return for a tons of excuses: “I has same one and I has no problem with it so do you.”, “If you don’t know how to use it go watch YouTube.”, “I can’t resale it so I won’t take it back.”, “This is final sale, you can go check our website.”
Thoughts:
Since Hone Depot discontinued Ego product line, I turn to Rona to purchase a few additional Ego gears. My general experience was good about this store sine I did not return any of my Ego products yet. Unsatisfied products should be return to the manufacturer rather than resell it or let customer stuck with it. Quite frankly it’s common practice for a private own store who reject reasonable return for profit purpose and do not care customer satisfaction.
Conclusion:
Unless you are 100% sure what you buy wont be return, otherwise, go Home Depot. They will make it right when your purchase does not works for you. On the opposite, Rona will ruin your day and have you stuck with unsatisfied products and let your feel you return a unsatisfied product is an awful thing.
