I recently had work done by Smiths Chimney Company and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, the crew—Nate, Elder, Angel, and Pablo—were outstanding.
They showed up on time, were extremely polite, and carried themselves professionally the whole time. What really stood out to me was how clean and respectful they were of my property. They took the time to set everything up properly, kept the work area neat throughout the job, and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left. You wouldn’t even know major work had just been done.
The quality of the work itself looks excellent. You can tell they take pride in what they do and don’t cut corners. They were also great about answering my questions and explaining what they were doing, which gave me a lot of confidence in the process.
It’s not always easy to find contractors who are reliable, skilled, and respectful, but this team really checks all the boxes. Nate, Elder, Angel, and Pablo were a pleasure to deal with, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Smiths Chimney Company to anyone needing chimney work.

Smith's team members came out to my house to inspect and clean our chimney which hadn't been used in close to a decade. They did a fantastic job and spent a long while (both cleaning and inspecting), answering all my questions while leaving no trace of any mess afterwards.
Extremely polite and knowledgeable team, can't say anything but positives here. I really appreciate the service, and I'm going to work with them to make repairs on my chimney as a next step.

Men were on time, covered the area they worked in. Worked well together , took the time to explain what the results of the inspection and provided pictures of their findings. I have been a builder in Avalon and Stone Harbor for 51 years, trust me when I say if you need a chimney inspection this is the company to go to.

How often should I have my chimney cleaned?
The Chimney Safety Institute of America recommends an annual cleaning and inspection of your chimney. However, if you use your fireplace extensively during colder months, more frequent cleanings may be necessary to maintain safety and optimal performance.
What can I expect from a chimney cleaning from Smith's Chimney Service?
At Smith's, we prioritize your home's safety and cleanliness during our chimney cleaning process. We begin by protecting the work area with tarps and runners. Our technicians then thoroughly brush the chimney, typically from the top down, clean the firebox and smoke chamber, and use specialized soot vacuums to remove debris. Throughout this process, we conduct a comprehensive inspection to identify any potential issues or safety concerns.
I have a gas fireplace or no longer use my wood burning fireplace. Should I still have it cleaned?
While cleaning may not always be necessary for gas fireplaces or unused wood-burning fireplaces, regular inspections are crucial. These inspections help identify hidden problems or safety issues that may not be apparent to homeowners, providing peace of mind regarding your chimney's condition. It's important to note that gas fireplaces also require periodic maintenance and should not be overlooked.
Why do I need to clean my dryer vent?
Dryer vent cleaning is a critical fire prevention measure. Each year, approximately 15,000 homes in the U.S. experience dryer vent fires. Lint can accumulate beyond the standard dryer filter and build up in the vent, creating a highly flammable condition. Our efficient cleaning process helps mitigate this risk, protecting your home and family.
What are the most common chimney repairs?
Frequently encountered chimney repairs include addressing cracks in the chimney crown, repairing damaged flue liners, and resolving issues with the chimney cap or flashing. These repairs are essential for maintaining the safety and efficiency of your chimney system.
How do I know if my chimney needs repair?
