I purchased furniture from Raymour & Flanigan and paid an additional $300 for the Platinum Protection Plan. Less than a week after purchase, a wooden component of the chair frame broke.
I followed the instructions on the company’s website and submitted three online service requests without receiving a response. I then had to contact the local store directly and spoke with staff multiple times to get assistance.
Based on those conversations, I was led to believe that the chair would be replaced and that a service technician would not be necessary. I was told I would receive a brand-new replacement chair along with a $100 Raymour & Flanigan gift card for the inconvenience. What I had originally requested was a refund of the $300 Platinum Protection Plan, as it was not providing the service or protection advertised.
I was therefore surprised when a service technician arrived instead of a replacement chair. During that visit, I was informed that the chair could not be repaired. Despite this, the promised replacement chair was not provided. I attempted to follow up again with customer service but was unable to reach anyone.
This experience was time-consuming and disappointing. Based on my experience, the Platinum Protection Plan did not deliver the level of service or protection represented at the time of purchase. I would strongly advise customers to carefully reconsider whether this plan is worth the additional cost.
