This place’s business model is just a bet on people’s laziness. They will increase your price until you notice it and move out. And if you’re currently renting a unit, they don’t want you to rent another one :) It’s called “rent hopping” apparently. So an existing customer can’t get a discounted price, but will have to pay 3x more than a new customer. You might call that “rent hopping” but I think what those places do should be illegal as “bait and switch scam”.
