I come to this store for all of my home improvement needs. When it came time to replace our front entry and storm door, I was confident in going with Lowe’s to get the job done.
Unfortunately, our experience will keep me from ever recommending the Hillsborough Lowe’s for a project like this. We started this process in July 2025, paid for the project in August 2025 and the install was delayed until October 2025.
Lowe’s ordered the wrong door twice. The first time, there was zero communication from Lowe’s. We reached out via email twice and phone 3 times to figure out what the delay in scheduling installation was. The error (wrong door ordered) that was delaying scheduling the install date was only discovered after physically going into the store and practically forcing someone to help. When I spoke to the millwork manager, Dave, he had an attitude after I expressed that the lack of communication was unacceptable. A new order, which ended up being wrong, was placed and installation was scheduled.
The second wrong door was discovered when the installers brought it to our home and the door handle was on the wrong side. Thankfully the store had the correct door in stock and we were able to still have our door installed.
All of this to say that there was a complete lack of attention to detail. All of these issues were after we had fully funded the project. It seemed like once they got paid, no one cared anymore. Lowe’s corporate customer service are the only people who would effectively communicate. I am incredibly disappointed with Lowe’s.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
