    Never use Lowes for a carpet installation!! I should have listened to reviews and used a local flooring company instead but figured I would give Lowe's a chance as I've been a loyal customer for years. Carpet was installed incorrectly and started coming up the next day, plus they installed a cheaper padding rather than what I paid for! Gilford Lowe's and installation support has horrible customer service, and keeps sending the installer back to my house without the materials to fix the issue. It has been a month now and we had to delay our move because the carpet still isn't installed correctly. They are refusing a refund or compensation and customer service literally recommended I pursue a credit card chargeback rather than helping or getting a manager to assist. Please do yourself a favor and use any other carpet installation company!!

    Update (2 weeks later): I called the number in the reply below. There was no escalation as promised. It was a generic customer feedback line. They asked me to tell them what the matter was, so I asked them to read my review. Unfortunately their customer service department isn’t aware of how their partnership with Uber Eats works, so I had to explain it. I also sent them a photo of the original receipt so they could look up my purchase. The confirmed they received the email over the phone. They then suggested I drive back to the store (45 minutes from my house), to try and resolve the issue. I said that wasn’t acceptable. I asked them to escalate it internally and get back to me about locating a return receipt. It has now been over a week since that conversation, and no one from Lowes has replied to my email or followed up in any way. My original rating of one star stands. Their customer service department also gets one star for posting publicly here that they had escalated it internally when they had not, and for not following up after our phone conversation. Original: I arrived to exchange an item from an Uber Eats order, and left vowing not to ever visit this location again, and to avoid Lowe’s whenever possible. The returns cashier made a mistake and returned an item I asked for an exchange on. The item had been purchased on Uber Eats, so I have no access to the Visa card used for the purchase. Things went seriously downhill when the assistant manager arrived. He had no solution other than I should follow up with Uber Eats to get my money back. That was not acceptable to me, since it was Lowe’s mistake and I wasn’t going to sink hours trying to deal with automated customer support via an app. He then told me “he’d be happy to spend 8 hours on the phone to get $150 back” acting as if I should somehow be grateful for the opportunity to fix his mistakes for him. However when I suggested he do that, he refused to even try. He also refused to try and cancel the refund. It seems he would rather I solve the issue than try and get his company’s credit card processing involved. When I asked for the $150 credit towards (the more expensive) item I wanted he accused me of committing fraud and said if he gave me the credit I’d just go to another Lowe’s and get another $150. It was practically a master class in making people never want to do business with your company: accusing me of fraud after his store messing up my exchange and refusing to do ANYTHING to solve it. I asked for his manager (since his badge said he was assistant manager), but he said there was no one above him. Buyer beware. The manager of this store literally has no willingness (or ability?) to solve problems his employees create.
