    I arrived to exchange an item from an Uber Eats order, and left vowing not to ever visit this location again, and to avoid Lowe’s whenever possible. The returns cashier made a mistake and returned an item I asked for an exchange on. The item had been purchased on Uber Eats, so I have no access to the Visa card used for the purchase. Things went seriously downhill when the assistant manager arrived. He had no solution other than I should follow up with Uber Eats to get my money back. That was not acceptable to me, since it was Lowe’s mistake and I wasn’t going to sink hours trying to deal with automated customer support via an app. He then told me “he’d be happy to spend 8 hours on the phone to get $150 back” acting as if I should somehow be grateful for the opportunity to fix his mistakes for him. However when I suggested he do that, he refused to even try. He also refused to try and cancel the refund. It seems he would rather I solve the issue than try and get his company’s credit card processing involved. When I asked for the $150 credit towards (the more expensive) item I wanted he accused me of committing fraud and said if he gave me the credit I’d just go to another Lowe’s and get another $150. It was practically a master class in making people never want to do business with your company: accusing me of fraud after his store messing up my exchange and refusing to do ANYTHING to solve it. I asked for his manager (since his badge said he was assistant manager), but he said there was no one above him. Buyer beware. The manager of this store literally has no willingness (or ability?) to solve problems his employees create.

    Went in to the Gilford store this morning and bought five fairly small items. In fact! I carried the items in my arms without the need for a basket to the register. As I began checking out (at the self checkout) I tried fitting my first item in their new tiny plastic bags. Five items needed five bags. During this time a woman came over and said, “for $1.50 you can buy a larger bag to fit all the items.” I replied by saying, “it’s bad enough I have to do your job for free and now you want me to buy a bag to carry my items out”. ACE hardware is just down the road.

    This is one of my favorite stores!! They always have everything I need and then some, for work or personal needs. 💖 And the best part is that you can bring your dog!! 🤣🐾

    Called to speak to someone in Appliances, but the department was busy. Bruce called me back promptly and was very pleasant and knowledgeable and he helped me over the phone, which saved me a trip into the store. I am very grateful. Highly recommend him at the Gilford Lowes Appliance Dept.
