How soon do I have to lay down the sod after picking it up?
Ideally it is best to lay down the sod as soon as possible, though it can remain rolled up for a couple of days. The sod will need to be watered immediately after it is rolled out.
How often should I water fresh sod?
You will need to water your sod thoroughly once it is laid down. Water it until you see mud forming under the grass. The frequency of watering depends on the time of year. During the summer, your sod will need to be watered three times a day — in the morning, midday, and in the evening. In the cooler seasons, sod is best watered at midday and in the evening.
When do you start cutting sod?
Our sod cutting season begins in April, depending on the weather. By May, the sod is much better looking and ready to be used.
Do you hold sod until later in the year?

What is the difference between the two kinds of sod?
Fescue sod is much more durable and thicker, but it is not as soft and green as other types. Bluegrass, gives you greener and softer grass, but during the summer it will require more water and fertilizer.
How can I fix dog spots in the sod?
Dog spots require a lot of water to heal during the summer months so you will need to keep the area well-watered. After winter, in the spring, it is best to dig out the damaged areas and replace them with fresh sod which you will then need to keep watered.
Because dog urine, especially from females, can be very salty, this contributes to the damage of your sod. It is a common problem for pet owners, though if the issue seems severe, you might want to consult with a vet.
