Not sure why they waste their money with advertising when they do a poor job following up with their leads. These people wont ever call you. If their communication is this poor when i am trying to PAY for their business, i cannot imagine how bad it is if something were to go wrong on the project.

Hope you have better luck than I, contacted them 3 separate times to bid my lawn. The city was redoing the streets and Boulevards so I asked each time if they could seed my lawn while they were doing the Boulevard. First time the person who answered told me to talk to the subcontractor, after again explaining they would be doing the work she said fine what's your info I will give it to whoever to call you. Second time I just left a message, third time I talked to the guy heading up the project who was going look at my place and give me a bid in the next couple days. Never heard back from anyone. Would not recommend this company.
Frequently Asked Questions About S & S Landscaping
Are snow blowers easy to use?
Modern snow blowers are designed for user-friendly operation. Many models feature self-propulsion with multiple speed settings, including reverse. Higher-end units offer differential steering for easy maneuvering, and some are equipped with hydrostatic transmissions similar to those found in riding mowers. The controls are typically straightforward, allowing most operators to handle the machines without difficulty. What is the difference between a zero turn mower and a lawn tractor?
The primary distinction between zero turn mowers and lawn tractors lies in the placement of their cutting decks. Lawn tractors feature a mid-mounted cutting deck, while zero turn mowers have the deck positioned under the front of the vehicle. This front-end placement on zero turn mowers enhances their maneuverability. Our team at S & S Landscaping can assist you in choosing between a lawn tractor and a zero turn mower in Fargo, ND.
What should I look for when buying a riding lawn mower?
When investing in a riding lawn mower in Fargo, ND or nearby areas, several factors should be considered. Our team at S & S Landscaping recommends the following: familiarize yourself with different riding mower types, establish a budget, determine attachment requirements (such as baggers or snowblowers), assess your lawn size and obstacle count, and decide on the appropriate mowing deck width. A wider deck allows for faster mowing, while a narrower one typically provides a finer cut. To explore our extensive riding lawn mower selection, please visit our location or contact our team.
What kind of plants work best for our area?
Fargo's climate (Zone 4a) requires plants capable of withstanding cold winters, occasional drought, and strong winds. Suitable tree options include bur oak, American linden, honeylocust, black hills spruce, and Colorado blue spruce. Recommended shrubs are common ninebark, red twig dogwood, American cranberry bush, and junipers. For perennials and grasses, consider coneflower, black-eyed Susan, daylilies, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and little bluestem. Effective ground covers and vines include creeping juniper and Virginia creeper. These plants are hardy, low-maintenance, and well-adapted to North Dakota's seasons. For assistance in selecting appropriate plants for your property, refer to our tree and plant guides or consult with our staff.
How often should I water my lawn?
Effective lawn watering requires a strategic approach rather than guesswork. To maintain a healthy landscape and conserve water, consider the following tips: adjust your automatic sprinkler system regularly based on weather and seasonal changes; water between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM to minimize evaporation; apply sufficient water to saturate the root zone, typically 4 inches deep; use short run times with 2 or 3 repeat cycles for efficient irrigation; inspect sprinkler heads monthly for even coverage and to prevent overspray; and consider installing a rain sensor to automatically manage your sprinkler system during rainfall. These practices will help you maintain a healthy lawn while conserving water and reducing costs.
