    This Lowes is extremely well managed, reasonably clean, and full to the brim with friendly and knowledgeable associates. Nate knew exactly where the product I was looking for off the top of his head. This store is a cut above the average Lowes Hardware.

    Self-checkout attendant asked me was my Klein Tools bag “locked”. I said “no” she still proceeds to check and says “she checked one last week that had it locked”. Mind you, she doesn’t know what I know. She then proceeds to check throughout the bag in tiny compartments. I said “I didn’t put anything in the bag” as she continued. She says it’s “store policy, they make us check”. When she finished, I noticed all the other customers had a different greeting than I. No searches. No anything. Even asked if they needed assistance. And yes, I’m black. I go to 3 Lowe’s locations in surrounding area to see if I would receive the same treatment and I didn’t. A very nice greeting and no search. I will be taking this further.

    I had a very disappointing experience when trying to return blinds at Lowe’s on Saturday (3/14 around 12 PM). I needed to return two blinds that ended up being too small for the bedrooms in my new house. I wasn’t aware of the return policy since I’m usually not the one who shops at Lowe’s. When I went to the customer service desk, I was met by an older employee who was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of explaining the return policy or helping me understand the situation, she openly said she didn’t trust me and implied that I was lying — while speaking directly to me. Customers don’t always know every store policy, and a big part of customer service is educating people respectfully. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. This employee clearly seemed unhappy in her role and her attitude made the experience uncomfortable and unnecessary. I’ve always had decent experiences at Lowe’s, but this interaction was very disappointing and not how customers should be treated.
