I stopped by the Lowe’s in Winston-Salem at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17th, to get help removing an alarm tag from a sweater my boyfriend had purchased earlier that morning with the intention of wearing it to work the same day. Unfortunately, the alarm tag was never removed at checkout, and the alarm system didn’t go off when he left the store. Because of this oversight, it became a major inconvenience, and he was unable to wear the sweater to work as planned.
When I arrived at customer service, the associate assisting me—Jennifer—provided an extremely poor customer service experience. She did not make eye contact or greet me. I stood there waiting to be acknowledged, and when she finally looked up, she didn’t say a word—just stared. I had to initiate the interaction myself by saying, “Hi, I need help getting this tag removed.”
She took the sweater and walked away without saying anything, returned with the tag removed, and again said nothing—no explanation, no “here you go,” no basic courtesy.
What made this experience especially ironic was the sign at the counter asking customers to show respect for associates. Respect should be mutual, and basic communication is a fundamental part of customer service. I don’t know if this associate was overworked, unhappy, or simply having a bad day, but this was by far the most unfriendly service I’ve ever experienced at a Lowe’s.
I hope management addresses this, as it left a very poor impression.

Not great, but could just be the holidays.
Needed a leaf blower (still need one), and asked for assistance with unlocking the gate containing the box I wished to purchase. I couldn't do the self-service because I forgot my phone at home.
Waited 10 minutes and nobody came to assist. Asked again for assistance and was assured someone would be there to help me soon. Waited 10 more minutes and nobody showed up. Asked & waited one more time for a total of 30 minutes. No help arrived. I was on a schedule and had to leave, so no leaf blower for me.
Could be they're overwhelmed by the holiday season, but I'm not too happy about my experience.
If you're okay with overpaying and don't need assistance, this store could be for you.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
