Absolutely horrible behavior from one of their supervisors. This started yesterday when I sent my son (who has worked for my for 8 years and so he is by no means a novice) to have paint made using a code from Lowes' old paint numbering system (they changed it about a year ago). He was met by Lynn who promptly told him she could not help as the code was old and she could not use it. He explained to her that there is a way to cross the old system to the new one and that we have done this several times at this store. Very condescendingly, she told him he was wrong and that she "is the paint supervisor and if there was a way to cross it, she would know about it". He tried to explain to her again that we have done this at this particular Lowe several times. She got even more rude and shut him down until he left.
Now then, today I went in there with paint samples to match (for the same paint needed the day before) and I was "helped" by Lynn. From the beginning of our interaction, she was curt and by no means friendly (which is not a requirement but I am accustomed to having civil interactions with customer service reps that I deal with).
We went about our shopping and returned to find the order complete with our samples on the materials. I could not see any evidence that a swatch had been put on my samples which mean only 2 things; either the match was perfect (which is VERY rare) or it was not applied at all. I hit the assistance button to be met, once again, by Lynn. I inquired if the swatch was placed on my samples (which is standard practice at ANY paint store, to prove the quality of the color match) and she said "no, they are perfect matches and so I didn't need to do that". She added "if the matches were not perfect, I would have found you in the store and told you about it". As I attempted to communicate my concerns that I would still like to see it for myself since exact matches are extremely rare, she (in a very irritated manner) used her finger to wipe some of the paint drop on top of the paint lid and smeared it on my samples (which is NOT how this is done) and reiterated her statement of her magnificent job she had done. Ultimately, it was a good match but as almost always, not perfect.
Feeling the obvious contempt and disrespect from Lynn, I asked "are you having a bad day"? She replied (quite rudely) "YES I AM!". I retorted with "Well, none of your bad day is my fault and I don't appreciate this treatment, as I am a frequent customer". She turned her back on us and walked away. At the pro checkout, there was a supervisor there who I reported this unacceptable behavior and he assured me he would report it (this review will fact check that).
I am a Platinum Pro at Lowes and have been for many years (which only comes when you spend large amounts regularly). In fact, if I spend only $6000 or $7000 a month at Lowes, it was a slow month for me.
I am a daily customer at Lowes from New Bern to Wilmington and I have had occasion to encounter Lynn multiple times over the past few years and although she is NEVER friendly to anyone (as confirmed by the other supervisor I reported the incident to) but yesterday and today Lynn was flat out rude, nasty and condescending and even IF I didn't spend the amount I do at Lowes, this is deplorable service from any employee but even less acceptable from a supervisor.
I know I will be at this Lowes again depending on my job site proximity but if she is working the paint counter, I will go elsewhere for my paint needs.

The worst customer service experience I’ve had in my life. Don’t say you’re dog friendly if you’re not dog friendly. My in laws had their very sweet and quiet golden doodle at the self check out line with us and Marilyn yelled “EXCUSE ME get your dog on a tighter leash” and was extremely rude and condescending. We were all shocked. We normally go to the Surf City Lowe’s because the customer service is incredible and they love on our pups, but after coming here and experiencing this type of behavior from Marilyn we will never step foot here again.
Extremely rude for no reason. If you’re unhappy then maybe don’t work here.
