    Came for a chimney cap. Said there were 16 in stock on the app and couldn’t find them when we got to the store. Spoke to an associate and they said they sold them all. Told us to try a different store, but why would we do that if this store said they had 16 in stock and didn’t? Huge waste of time.

    I recently had a very frustrating experience trying to return a bathroom vanity we purchased. When we originally bought the item, the box was already ripped and there was minor damage to the product, which is why it was marked down slightly. After getting it home, we realized it was not the correct size for our bathroom, so we brought it back to the store to return it. We were then told that because the item had been marked down, it could not be returned. This was confusing and disappointing because I have previously purchased marked-down items from Lowe’s and have never had an issue returning them. If we had known the item would be non-returnable simply because it was marked down, we never would have purchased it. When buying items like bathroom vanities, you don’t always know if something will fit properly until you get it home — that’s exactly why stores have return policies in place. The most frustrating part of the experience was the customer service interaction. I politely asked to speak with a manager. The employee called the manager while I was standing there and explained that I wanted to speak with him. The manager refused to come to the front, stating there was no reason for him to come because he was not going to approve the return. I calmly explained that I would still like to speak with him — that’s the purpose of having a manager available — but he still refused to come out. I waited for quite some time hoping he would come speak with me, but he never did. I’m now stuck with a $300+ bathroom vanity that I cannot use, and the lack of basic customer courtesy from management was extremely disappointing. I am always respectful, do not raise my voice, and simply wanted a conversation and clarification. Unfortunately, this is not my first negative experience at the Shallotte Lowe’s location. I have never had issues at the North Myrtle Beach Lowe’s, and based on my experiences, I would recommend going there instead if possible.
