    The customer service here is horrible with the exception of Carol in hardware and Mary in the garden center. I had 2 carts loaded plus my service dog with me on Friday the 3rd. I walked up to 3 different men in the garden department and asked them to please help me get my carts through checkout and to my car. They all looked at me, said nothing and walked away! I also saw them do the same thing to 2 other customers! Carol helped me get one cart to the checkout before she went back to her department. Another customer helped me push one cart to my car. This is not acceptable. Please retrain your staff to assist customers when requested. Carol is a rock star and the only reason I gave 3 stars. Give that woman a raise!

    This store has always had issues with finding people that are willing to help you. There are supposed to be people in specific departments that are professionals. And yet you can never find them when you need them.

    If you are shopping at the Lowe’s in Roanoke Rapids, NC, I strongly recommend that if you have any issues with your purchase, you skip the store entirely and contact Lowe’s corporate customer service instead. My family recently spent over $2,000 on a new washer and dryer from this location, including delivery and installation. The appliances themselves are great, but the experience with the store was unacceptable. The washer was delivered with a faulty drain hose that had a leak. Had the installers stayed long enough to observe the machine running, the issue would have been obvious. Instead, the leak was discovered after installation and I had to call a plumber to fix the problem. When I called the Roanoke Rapids store to explain that the hose delivered with the washer was defective, I was told by the store manager that I would need to drive to the store myself to pick up a replacement hose. The nearest Lowe’s to my home is over 35 minutes away, meaning they expected me to drive more than an hour round trip to correct a problem caused by their installation. Because of the situation, the plumber who was already at my house went to Ace Hardware, purchased the correct hose, and installed it properly. During that process he also discovered that the hot and cold water lines had been connected incorrectly during installation and fixed those as well. When I explained that it was unreasonable to expect a customer to drive over an hour to replace a defective part that Lowe’s delivered, the store manager hung up on me twice. Thankfully, Lowe’s corporate customer service handled the situation professionally and is reimbursing the repair costs. They were helpful and responsive, which I appreciate. However, the customer service at the Roanoke Rapids store was extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, if you shop at this location and something goes wrong, save yourself the frustration and contact corporate directly instead of calling the store.
