- TKTina KocurApr 21, 20261.0I attempted to reserve a 5x9 storage unit on April 13th for my NC State student to store dorm items over the summer. The listed rate was $58/month for 4 months. During the online reservation process, I expected to select a move-in date up to 14 days in advance as stated on their website, but the system only allowed dates within the next 3 days (April 14-16). Since that timing didn’t align with our needs, I called the facility and spoke with the assistant manager. I was advised to go ahead and reserve the unit and that they would adjust the move-in date on their end. I followed those instructions and selected the “pay later” option, but the move-in date was never updated. Before the issue was resolved, my reservation expired. When I went back to reserve the same unit again, now within the needed timeframe for fall semester move-in, the monthly rate had increased to $76/month. I contacted online support to ask if they could honor the original $58 rate, but was informed that wasn’t possible, despite the same units still appearing available. I understand that pricing and availability can change, but the inability to select a proper move-in date initially, and being advised to reserve anyway, ultimately resulted in a higher cost and I am now considering alternatives. This process was frustrating and could be improved with clearer booking options and better follow-through.
