Not too long after I started renting a 10x10 storage unit here, I received a text informing me that the rental rate was going up $30 PER MONTH! That brought my rate to $182/month for no temperature control, a 10x10 slab of concrete in Raleigh, NC, not NYC. I decided to find another storage location, this time in Durham, NC, where I found many, many, many 10x10 storage units for ~$60/month. 1/3 the price of Extra Space Storage off McNeil. That's absolutely ABSURD! Same market, same space, same customers, 3x more expensive??? Good riddance.
