    First time in this Lowe's. We have a vacation place nearby and needed to pick up some things for an unplanned to project. We walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon. There was an employee near the door who answered our questions immediately. Then we used one of those automated requests for help because what we needed was behind a locked cabinet. The same employee came to help. He was very professional and answered our questions. We picked up a few other things and proceeded to check out. Most checkouts were self-service but there was an employee standing right there that helped us with the gift card we were buying. I was really happy with how easy it was to get assistance at this store.

    Currently in Lowe’s of New Bern for a remodel for my kitchen and looking to get samples for my countertops and they don’t offer any samples to take home. The lady said it was because they did not come back. She said now they just tell people to bring a cabinet door? Wow.

    Our experience with Lowe’s for kitchen and bathroom countertops has been absolutely awful from start to finish. We found the stone we wanted and were impressed at first — the salesperson seemed competent, the pricing was lower than competitors (though still far from cheap), and everything looked promising. But the moment we paid, everything went downhill fast. Three months later, we still had no stone, no installation date, and no answers. Lowe’s, who we contracted with to manage the entire project, completely washed their hands of any responsibility, telling us to “deal directly with the installers.” There was no response from our repeated phone calls, and we finally had to drive to the store to speak with a manager. In other words, they took our money and then refused to manage their own vendors. The stoneworks company finally stepped in but installers were frequently unresponsive — we had to chase them constantly just to get anything done. It was an exhausting and infuriating experience. When installation finally happened, the workmanship was sloppy and unacceptable. The bathroom faucet hole was cut too large, making it nearly impossible for the plumber to seat the faucet properly. The kitchen faucet hole was cut too close to the sink, so the water hits the side of the basin instead of the drain — a clear violation of standard spacing. The installer’s excuse? “That’s how we always do it.” Completely unacceptable. In the end, while the stone itself looks fine, everything about Lowe’s service, management, and installation was an absolute nightmare. We will never use Lowe’s for any home project again, and we strongly urge others to stay far away. Pay a little more elsewhere — you’ll save yourself months of frustration and regret.
