- RHRollin H4 days ago1.0Paid Lowes to install a toilet since we purchased the toilet there. Normally we would use someone else but wanted to make things easy before the holidays. We thought it easier and one less thing to schedule. Lowes contracted with Heaton Construction who sent a person to install the toilet. We soon noticed water coming through the ceiling. Through a recorded conversation, Heaton Construction admitted the installer was not a licensed plumber, nor was the man they sent to investigate when I reported the leak. Their employee even said the installer get sloppy sometimes when in a hurry. (all recorded conversations). The Lowes/Heaton guy came alone, unsupervised, unlicensed. See their work in the pictures and then see how a real pro does it. Read the notes from a real plumber that fixed it. Starting local and then corporate, Lowes just played "pass to the next phone number." Heaton was more helpful than Lowe's. Thousands in damages.... remember.... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

One would be hard-pressed to find a group of employees that care less about anything. It's actually impressive and satirical to watch the flippant attitudes and complete resignation. I have been going to this location for over a decade (which probably reflects poorly on me), and can attest to the long-running local jokes about the nature of Lowe's carelessness. If you need a few things and absolutely no help or guidance, Lowe's will do. But if you need some pointers and professional knowledge, go elsewhere. Lowe's of Morehead is the single greatest advertisement for Williams Hardware or Guy C. Lee. There are other home improvement stores with people who have a passion for building, creating, and assisting others. Skip Lowe's for one of the reputable local merchants if you can.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s.
