- WLWendy LAug 28, 20241.0Normally have fantastic service with Tom and the staff in the store. This complaint has to do with Leslies Service Department. I purchased a new variable speed pool pump and was told I needed to have Leslies do the install for the warranty to be effective. I was told it would be a “free” install. took two weeks to schedule an appointment – technician showed up today said they should’ve done a site prep visit which was not offered or recommended by Leslies Service when I called and was told they do not do the electrical work and I would have to have an electrician come out to power the pump. My free install cost me $138 for the technician to come out and basically glue two pieces of PVC together on the pump and I still do not have an operating pump and will probably have to spend several Hundred dollars more on an electrician. Had they told me I needed to have the electrician, I would’ve had one here on site simultaneously so that we could’ve fully installed the pump and make sure everything was in good operating order. In short, my time was wasted- I’m extremely disappointed to say the least. Also, quite honestly, it was quite a bait and switch to tell me it was a free install.
