Well stocked store, with friendly, helpful associates. Wonderful to see the employees that are Veterans proudly identified with their vests. The local store is supportive of local first responders and other community groups. They only lost a star in my rating because they all but eliminated human cashiers. Not everyone wants to self-checkout. (but that's most places anymore)

Waited 20 minutes for a Chest Freezer pickup - called - they assured me it was coming - waited 10 more minutes, had to leave for another appointment. Got a call 3 hours later - it's ready. Get it home, top is damaged, I'm outside the 48 return window. Stuck with useless junk. NOT HAPPY.

Do not purchase appliances for delivery from Lowe's. Do you remember when delivery drivers would phone you the night before or while en route? Giving you a chance to explain something or ask a question? Well that process is a thing of the past, as Lowe's penny-pinches their way into abysmal customer service. Lowe's delivery and installation provider, RXO, out of Portsmouth VA - whom Lowe's has chosen, contracted with (including service standards, no doubt), and pays - is an absolute nightmare. I ordered a washer/dryer to be delivered and installed at my house in Duck. I thought I would be there at the time, but was unable to make it. Called Lowe's early in the morning re: our afternoon delivery, and they put me in touch with RXO's service reps. I provided a door code and explained that I needed to SPEAK WITH THE DELIVERY PEOPLE before they enter the house. No phone call from them. Several more from me. Some hilarious description of how RXO's rep (my sympathy is with the reps, for sure) can "send an urgent email". What? There's no such thing as an urgent email. But that's the best they can do because even the reps don't have a way to reach the delivery people. Received an automated text (responses to which go to a bot) that delivery was very near to the house. Okay. Still no call. So I call again. I start recording and explain that I want the order and delivery to be cancelled unless someone phones me before they cross my threshold. Nothing. Turns out that the contractor wouldn't respond to RXO's messages (again, there is no telephone communication in any part of this). Who pays whom? Who works for whom? Still not resolved as I continue to wait for this elusive phone call. Decided to pass time by writing this review. I give my money to Lowe's, they give money to RXO, who gives money to "the contractor" (delivery person). No one in this chain displays any accountability or even comprehension of what basic service processes should look like. Seems that the contractor has all the power/leverage, which is backwards. The process is designed to put the onus on me, the customer, to waste all my time phoning, holding, talking to people who can't do anything (except send urgent emails...that get no response). I waste hours so that they can save, what?, a couple of few bucks? Never again will I buy from Lowe's.
