- SKSarah Kattich5 days ago2.0Went in to get a quote for getting carpet installed. We brought measurements and a rough blueprint of the house just to help a bit. Employee walks up asks if we need help and I let him know we wanted a quote with the $0.83/sqft carpet and showed him the paper with dimensions. He glanced at it said "about 1000sqft" put something in his handheld scanner and told me it would be $2.5k - 3k but he wont have a correct estimate until they are in our house to measure themselves. Then he brushed us off. There was no further conversation. We went over to home depot right after and they sat me down took my blueprint paper and said it helped them get a more accurate estimate for them. They listened to what budget I had in mind and pulled prices for 3 different carpet $1.29/sqft , $1.59/sqft, $1.79/sqft. With those prices I was quoted $1.8k (being the 1.29)- $3k (1.79).. much better carpet quality with a lower overall cost. With how I was treated alone I would choose home depot over Lowes since home depot actually cares about their customers. Lowes has to have outrages prices for their $.83 carpet to cost 3k to install its just ridiculous.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
