- BMBrian MarxMar 22, 20264.0For select reasons this is an alternate ID. Aspects of our project were done quite well, some were not done to what was specified and some were not done at all. Overall, Tyler and his crew were a good bunch who worked hard. Stone work was particularly good in many respects. The placement and setting of some very large rocks was solid. The look is 'maturing' well- especially after nearly a year of letting things settle in. The upcoming spring and summer show still more promise as the plants continue to grow. However... Some of the details we discussed in the planning phase got lost. corten steel edging was not set high enough and either mulch is spilling into pea gravel pathways or the gravel is jumping over into the mulch. The edging is asymmetrical in places creating irregular lines which still frustrate me. There are other 'loose threads' which should have been tended to. Finally, some planned, custom-sized rectangular planters were never acquired despite promises. Granted, the cost of them was deducted from the final estimate along with other discounts to the original estimate. It appeared that near the end of our project another one elsewhere took priority. I would not readily recommend Southwinds but with numerous 5-star reviews, they are clearly capable of excellent work. Just inspect the work closely and regularly. Keep notes in writing.
