At the time of the return, I didn`t have my card with me so they issued a merchandise credit and confirmed to me that I could use it to pay my World Market credit card bill. This weekend, I learned that this is not possible. As a result, I now have a credit card balance of over $300 and a merchandise credit of $175 that I cannot apply toward my account. This situation leaves me feeling as though I am being forced to spend an additional $175, on top of paying my full credit card balance, which is not what I agreed to at the time of the return. I specifically asked for the refund to be applied back to my original form of payment (the item was returned in less than 30 days from the purchase date). I went to the store at Wendover (Greensboro) 2 times trying to get this resolved, they told me to call the customer center, who told me to call Comenity (credit card provider), who told me to call back to customer center and guess what? They sent me back to the store manager AGAIN. This is absolutely ridiculous. I returned a $175 item, yet I still have to pay my World Market credit card bill in full, and now I’m also stuck with a merchandise card I can only use in-store. I’m trapped in this endless, frustrating loop. I`m closing my account with them. The complete lack of willpower is revolting.
