  I became a customer in February of 2024. I lost my job and eventually had to sell my house. I put my belongings in Ample Storage in Goldsboro, NC. For the past 2 years, I have struggled to land a job and keep my storage. Over this time, I have spoken with many employees at the Goldsboro facility and explained what I was going through. I've asked if they could assist me, and their response is, “If you abandon your unit, we will auction it off. I explained that I'm not abandoning my unit, I'm struggling. I've made several large payments over this time, making up for late payments, only to return to the same boat. My last payment was in July 2025, I believe. I tried to get as much stuff out as possible, but I was staying with family and couldn't move my stuff anywhere. Again, I fell behind on payments. My wife currently works for another storage facility and instructed me to ask them for a “Pay to Vacate” to help me. I was told coldly, “No,” that I needed to pay the full amount or my unit would be auctioned. We have finally moved into an apartment, our first space in the last two years, but as I'm typing this, my unit is up for auction within the next hour. The manager called me this morning around 11:15am and said, "Your unit will be sold by 2pm.” I told her that if there wasn't any way she could help me, I didn't know what else to do. She said, “ok, have a nice day,” and hung up. No compassion, sympathy, or empathy for the fact that I was on the verge of losing my hard-earned stuff. I’ve been in management for over a decade and customer service for almost 20 years. I can’t believe a manager or the company would be so cold and blind to the struggles that many people are facing today. People are losing their careers after years of employment. People are experiencing homelessness every day. Whether or not Ample Storage could've done anything to help my situation is beyond me. But in the spirit of Good Customer Service. Maybe they need to train their employees or find employees who understand the struggles in the country today and show a little heart and compassion for what people are going through. Not every unit that's lost is abandoned. Sometimes people go through things and need a little help. If you're in a situation like mine, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. They don't care what you're going through; they only want the money for your unit. Plenty of other facilities would be willing to at least “Try” and offer a solution to help you. Ample Storage is not one of those companies. Take your business elsewhere.

  Do NOT use their storage units. I was paying $250 a month for a 10x25 not climate controlled and found a place 3 miles away with a 10x20 for $101 a month and it is not just a special rate. You can literally get 2 storage units of 10x20 for MORE space at less cost. Just go to Mini Storage of Goldsboro on McLean St.

  There rental on the trucks are misleading and will get your bank account if you wreck any of them. They don't what for your insurance to pay its right then for them. Watch OUT
