However, with the current state of our economy and how important finances are…I would rather give clients a heads up. To jump right in, our bill has been increased by 50% on 2 occasions at the flip of a switch without warning. I personally have the app and consistently check my email. With that being said, no notifications were received. On the first occasion, I spoke with a manager and they were incredibly kind. They were able to get the rate back down to the originally contracted rate and we were all set. However, I just received a notification of a $77.00 charge to my account. Went to check the app and long and behold my rate went from $35.00 to $77.00 over night. I called the location to inquire and was told that this is common. ExtraSpace Storage raises prices about every 3 to 6 months. I asked why it’s over a 50% increase when typically companies will implement CPI’s between 3%-10% max? They unfortunately didn’t have an answer. This is honestly shady and greedy in my opinion for a company to do this to their consumers. I tried giving the benefit of the doubt the first time around but this second time was even more of an increase and was implemented the same way…under the radar. Id like to note that the on site staff have always been so kind and professional. The facility stays pretty clean as well. It would be an all around great place if they didn’t price gouge their consumers this way. I hope this helps anyone looking to lease here.
