Less than two years later, the dryer stopped working, and the experience since filing a claim has been nothing but a headache. The service company Lowe’s assigned—Sears Home Services—has repeatedly cancelled scheduled repair appointments. It is nearly impossible to get help because they are AI-only, with no way to speak to an actual person. At this point, it feels like a scam rather than a legitimate service provider. To make matters worse, every time I call the Lowe’s Protection Plan number, I’m told the issue will be “escalated,” yet my claim keeps getting cancelled anyway. I’ve already been escalated multiple times, with zero resolution and no repair. I have completely lost confidence that my dryer will ever be fixed. What’s the point of paying extra for a protection plan if no one takes responsibility when something goes wrong? This experience has been incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. I will not be purchasing appliances or protection plans from Lowe’s again.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order.
