    This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. Something happened because it wasn’t always like this. I tried to go in and buy 2 brackets, some little plastic strips, and a wooden shelf to add to my existing system (that I purchased at this store) and the girl said she would go look to see if it was in stock. She never returned. I asked another woman to check on her and that woman went in back, and never returned. After waiting an extended period of time I just left. I ordered the parts on-line. I received an e-mail today that I could come pick up my order. When I arrived I waited for a while and a girl came out and displayed a little bag and said here it is. I looked at her and said, “That’s not it”. She looked at me as if I was crazy. I had to tell her that my order is a wooden shelf that’s 2 feet long. Won’t fit in the little bag. So I waited around again as she looked through the computer. She had no idea what was going on. She finally went in back … and never came back. The cashier eventually asked me if I was waiting for something. When I said, “I’m still waiting” she checked on her little walkie talkie earpiece and told me the order was not ready. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT E-MAILED ME! I left and came back about 20 minutes later. I told the woman that we would resolve it today. Either I can pick it up, or I will cancel the order. She immediately launched into some complicated, “well you have to return the brackets and the counter and then …”. I told her to keep the damn money and I left. So, I called the customer service line and asked for the District Director, Will Chenowith. They put me on a long hold, then came back, then put me on a long hold again. I eventually just hung up. DON’T LET THEM STEAL FROM YOU THE WAY THEY DID FROM ME! It’s not worth the time or effort to buy anything here. Edit: After seeing the response they posted I just get pissed off. I have thousands of dollars in a closet system that was purchased specifically because of the feature that I could add or remove parts of it as my needs changed. Now, that feature is lost. And I have this set up in two of my large closets. I can’t buy Elfa from anyone else and I need to change the shelf setup. I wish I could return the whole damn thing and go with an install from another manufacturer. You guys screwed me over and sold me a big pile of crap that I can’t use.

    Loved the store however, the kitchen stock was very sparse. I asked about a couple of items and was directed to order online if they were out in the store. It’s a bit of a drive to Brentwood and it would have been nice to have the items in stock that we were looking for.

    Sad,,,,,,,,,,,,, very SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We used to travel quite some distance to shop at the Container store about once a month. Slowly but surely we've noticed a steady decline in their inventory and selection of containers, particularly the small ones and also the colorful ones. We visited the store again for the last time a few days ago, and walked out with nothing. Sooooooo, off to Amazon it is. They had everything I needed at less than half the price. Sad to see a really great store slide backwards. My prediction is that they won't be around for very much longer.
