The store advertises 40% off all model kits, but when I attempted to purchase a model priced at $8.99 (marked down from $9.99), I was told at checkout that it did not qualify for the promotion. When I calmly asked if this could be double-checked with a manager, the associate initially tried to resolve it herself, then consulted one manager and ultimately another. I was eventually told the item was excluded because it was considered a “warehouse item.” This exclusion was not clearly communicated anywhere in the promotion, and this is not the first time I’ve encountered this exact issue—having experienced a similar situation at a different location in Georgia. Beyond that, the checkout experience itself was inefficient. The line moved extremely slowly, and the checkout area is positioned directly under ceiling windows, causing glare from the sun while waiting. Combined with the slow scanning process, it made for an unnecessarily unpleasant experience. Advertised promotions should be honored consistently and transparently. Customers should not have to question fine-print exclusions at the register or wait while multiple managers reinterpret a sale. Until pricing policies are clearly communicated and checkout efficiency improves, this location falls short of reasonable expectations.
