Stood in line for 10 minutes at the garden section (on a single customer) waiting to buy 15 bags of the 5 for $10 soil, and when I FINALLY reached the counter, the cashier didn't even take the time to ring it up properly. She was going to charge me full price for all of it! In other words I waited 10 minutes in line on a SINGLE customer, only to have the cashier not do her job when I reached the front of the line! Unacceptable!!

We went to the Independence Lowe's to exchange a faulty garden tool battery. The kid at return desk was less than helpful to the point of rude. Pointed us to the tool section where we waited for help only to have that person basically walk away without telling us what he was doing. Finally ran into a helpful employee where we hunted for one of the 3 batteries in stock but never found them and he directed us to the Lee's Summit store. I will say the Lee's Summit store was very helpful.

Honestly worst experience ever, I went in with my friends 4 days ago and it was around 7 - 8 pm and we were buying soil and looking at small plants and all the employees that worked that night was so obvious about trying to see if we were stealing but not a hi or greeting was shared but we went on with our shopping and we obviously were not stealing anything, we purchased everything we had. We went to the the cashier to purchase our stuff and everyone was looking at us like they just got done talking about us. As soon as we did purchase the tiny 3.99 plant we walk away from the register and she pulls out her walkie talkie and said " they have bought the items" and then we go meet up with our other 2 friends they are at check out and the African American guy literally gave us the most disgusting and dirty look it's honestly so embarrassing to look at someone and instantly think were stealing. I think you shouldn't have employees that don't ever greet you when you walk in and then instantly accuse us of stealing . Also it was so obvious that they were pretending to be customer, which was extremely hilarious 😂 do better as people and in a work environment.

A gentleman by the name of Jake Lair was one of the most helpful individuals in the flooring and bathroom department. He seemed very knowledgeable and kind. Overall a very positive experience.

My wife and I visited the Lowe’s in Independence on 3/15 to look at patio doors and request an estimate. When we arrived, there was no one at the desk in the door department, which unfortunately didn’t surprise me since those desks are rarely staffed. I pressed the assistance buzzer, and after about five minutes, an employee came over. He was polite, but he didn’t seem to have any knowledge about the doors or the process. A manager eventually joined us after checking in, but he also appeared unfamiliar with the products and couldn’t answer our questions. Frustrated by the lack of information, I asked to at least schedule a measurement so I could continue my research on my own. The manager took my information and said a contractor would call within 24 hours to set it up an appointment. As we left, I told my wife I doubted we’d receive a call because it didn’t seem like anything had actually been processed. Unfortunately, I was right. After waiting four days with no response, I contacted another company and had someone come out the very same day to take measurements and go over door options. Overall, the experience felt like a combination of poor training and lack of urgency. In the end, it reinforced my belief: support local businesses, because too often, big box stores just don’t provide the level of care or service you expect.
