I came in close to closing one night and was looking for advice to run a water line. There was younger fellas that works in the paint department that went out of his way to help me out and told me he was going to school to be an electrician. Super friendly guy and very knowledgeable about many things not just paint.

Return policy isn't acceptable, all the other hardware stores will at least offer store credit, not Lowe's. I will go with the other guys from now on.

while I don't suppose there's anything WRONG with Lowe's , the layout is confusing and it always seems barren of any employees able or willing to assist. when you do find someone sometimes comes off as a bother asking them for help. for me, the consistent choice is home Depot

I bought a 300lb generator online from Lowes in Kirkwood. Two weeks later, I returned it unopened in the original box to Lowes Ballwin. The customer service there was terrible.
First, they informed me that I had only 72 hours to return the item, as per their store policy, which the store printed on the their computer and put it at the return counter. When I requested to speak to a manager, the cashier responded with, “They’re busy with inventory,” as if helping a customer was less important than managing stock.
The manager finally arrived and said per store policy they couldn’t return generators after 72 hours. I asked for a store credit because I was going to use it to buy a fridge, the answer was no. However, they offered to put the item back in my car so I could take it to Kirkwood and get a refund. They also provided me with a 800 number for customer service.
I called customer service while still at the store, and they confirmed that I could return the unopened, unused item after 60 days. I had the manager speak to the service center to facilitate the return.
However, another manager came up and informed me that I had to return the item to Kirkwood for a refund. I called customer service again to inquire about the return process, and miraculously, he managed to arrange for it.
Overall, the entire process took about 45 minutes. I will never shop at Lowes again! IF YOU PURCHASE A GENERATOR FROM THIS STORE, per LOWES policy, you are able to return it unused.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order.
