The worst experience with Nordstrom alterations. Make sure you do not allow HANNAH or CHRIS to alter any of your clothing due to their poor attitude and workmanship. I would have given this a 0 rating if it were available. My daughter and I went in to have her $400 Sam Freestyle jacket repaired for a stitching issue we noticed. When we got there, we had to wait 20 minutes for the alteration people to come, which was fine, and then when Hannah came, she took us into a fitting room, and we explained we would like to know the cost of altering the jacket. She quickly grabbed the jacket and put two needles through it, one across the seam, which was fine, and then another one horizontally, which punctured the puff jacket, causing a hole and feathers to come out. When I told her she put a hole in it, she said, "Oh, I can fix it; this is the type of material you can put needles through." This was a quick response after she realized she had damaged the jacket. Keep in mind that I just wanted to know the cost and not have work done at this point. She proceeded to take us to the third floor to ask if they could even do it, and she came out with another lady and very aggressively asked, "Has this jacket ever been worn or has it been dry cleaned?" My response was yes; it’s been worn a few times, but no, we haven't dry-cleaned it. In an abrupt and very rude voice, she stopped me and said it must be dry cleaned before we can perform work on it. That was not an issue even though it was in pristine condition, and I said no problem; we would have it dry cleaned and bring it back for repair. After this, my daughter asked, What are you going to do about the hole Hannah caused? They both replied, "What hole? There was only one needle, and it is along the seam." That was correct, since Hannah removed the needle that was going horizontally through the jacket. Hannah said to my daughter that I only put one needle in across the seam. I then looked at Hannah and told her to look into my eyes and tell me you put one needle in and you didn’t put one across; she then confessed to putting one across, which punctured a hole in the jacket. Then the two ladies spoke and said that they would steam it and it would go away, so once again, Hannah abruptly took the jacket, went to the back room, and then sent out an older gentleman to give us the jacket, saying you’re all set. Why would she not come out and hand us the jacket??? My daughter examined it, and the hole was gone, but what Hannah did was cover the hole by folding it into the seam and stitching across the old seam, covering the hole, and now the stitching is all jagged. When I went back to question them, Hannah was gone. The other lady with her was gone, and there was no manager on duty to help. I went into the backroom where the alternation people are and spoke to the older gentleman who gave us the jacket; unfortunately, he could not speak English, so he was confused, and then this little pompous prick who was sewing some pants or something by the name of Chris came out and was very rude, not understanding the issue and saying we did not do that and verbally attacking my daughter, saying we could not help you and basically go away. It was very clear they altered the appearance of the jacket and were covering up. I have never heard of steaming a hole in a jacket of this material, and it will go away. Nordstrom Alterationas at Troy Summerset are a very unprofessional and dishonest crew. I would stay away from them, and if you absolutely must alter your clothes there, make sure Hannah and Chris do not touch them. You can tell they do a very fast job with poor quality. I am waiting on a call back from the alterations manager, but I’m yet to hear anything. I guess this should not be a surprise. The good news is that I was eventually able to get a hold of the Nordstrom store manager, and she made everything right. Thank you, Cameron for your wonderful customer service. She is the true definition of how a manager should act and treat customers. Nordstrom is lucky to have you. - Dave
