I was given a gift certificate to the "other" craft store, so I went there hoping to get what I needed for a large event. I was so disappointed, they didnt have anything I needed, their prices were high, the store crowded and dirty The next day I ventured to my local Traverse City HobLob and immediately I was happy! The ceilings are tall, the lights are bright, the floors are clean, the colors are happy, there is room to breathe, I can browse without my personal space being invaded. Customer service is top notch, people asking me if I needed help, making suggestions for what would work for which project, AND there prices are phenomenal! When I say they had everything, I mean they had everything, and more! May I also add that there ambient music was soothing, relaxing, not in my face and distracting. I had time to think, to breathe, to plot and plan. I walked out $231 "richer" for an experience I was happy about and confident that my big event will be a success due to the fact that the HobLob supported my vision

Love the store itself! Shop there often. It's a great source of inspiration and a much needed glimpse of spring this time of year. However, one of the younger ladies at the checkout counter was extremely rude towards my father (he was ahead of me in line). When he asked her if she planned to wrap his step-stool (she was placing paper under it as though she planned to, which seemed excessive, as it was a sturdy plastic stool) she made a remark about men thinking they know everything and that the paper was for my order. He was simply being polite and suggesting that it wasn't necessary. He then walked away with his purchase to the breezeway and waited for me to finish mine. Not knowing I was his daughter, she continued loudly talking about how awful men are and went on to give personal examples. I kindly informed her that my father is a very good guy and we were there to buy birthday gifts for my mom. She continued on with her case that men are awful as I waited for her to give me my change. It was shameful and completely uncalled for. I do hope the Traverse City location will speak with its team about respect and customer service. This occurred around 02/09/26 at 5:16 pm (the time marked on my receipt) The store itself deserves 5 stars. The customer service here less than half a star. We'll balance it out with a 2.

Shopping here was nice I went on a vacation, and decided to go get yarn from hobby lobby with my girlfriend. Everything was fine up until… we made it to the register to pay. There we were greeted by (Ann) an employee here who was outrageously rude. When we walked up she asked the routine “did you guys find everything you were looking for?” To which I replied (as a complete joke) “No” *Waited for a second* and then followed up my no with a “I’m just kidding.” Ann didn’t like my joke at all, from that point forward she treated me like I was dirt on the bottom of her shoe. She asks my girlfriend, “Is this your brother or boyfriend” to which my girlfriend replied “He’s my boyfriend” Ann then follows up with “I don’t know how you put up with him”. So at this point i’m still thinking she’s joking so I say “I like to joke with people about not finding things because I just wanna see their reaction”. Ann wasn’t a fan of my jokes, because then she asks my girlfriend “Can I rip into him”? To which my girlfriend replied with “I mean yeah”. *We still think she’s joking along with us* Ann, this poor soul, looks me dead in my eyes and says “You act like a two year old, you’re self centered, and you’re just annoying.” It’s at this point where we realize she’s genuinely not joking and does not like me WHICH IS FINE, but unfortunately you’re clocked in working for a company that pays you to do your job and do it NICELY. So for the very first and last time I walked in there it was good up until I met Ann who definitely doesn’t seem too happy outside of work. Also Ann if you’re reading this I genuinely hope you find happiness, because everyone deserves that. We already have enough angry people in this world that mistreat others don’t be someone to add on to the statistic. Sincerely, The “two year old”
