  If I could rate this company zero stars I would. After DECADES of unreliable service, they think that now because they just started to finally fix their hardware in 2023 (which is still nowhere near where it needs to be quality wise), that they're entitled to rate hikes whenever they feel like it. They just had a rate hike 2 months ago, and are now asking for ANOTHER one that is almost DOUBLE in value to the one they just had approved. And ON TOP OF THAT, they're trying to say "well if this next data center goes through maybe we won't need to ask for a rate hike". DTE needs to be dissolved and all its assets absorbed by Consumer's Energy. #disbandDTE

  Hilarious that they think they can hide behind “Ann Arbor Responsible Energy Coalition”! If only they spent that time and money actually fixing their horrible service and reputation. Not liking DTE is one if the few topics that unites most people in SE Michigan

  Came and dug into my septic drain field with 0 prior warning, which is normal, and not even where they have an easement at, the easement ends about 20 yards from where they dug, then filled my hole in with crap soil filled with giant rocks. Left pieces of the road throughout my yard and left a new gas cap sitting about 6 inches above the ground right at the edge of the road, plow will clip that thing off the first plow this coming winter. So tired of the utility companies in Michigan.

  Awful customer support, long phone wait times, and hit-and-miss representatives. I've spent hours on hold waiting to get to somebody before being hung up on. Edit: Live chat customer support is even worse than waiting on the phone, with longer wait times, and LONG delays between responses, plus you’re relying on a site chat to update. I’m not reaching out via social media so a marketing intern can respond to a technical or billing question.

  Ever since you all made these changes with charging people for using credit cards something has been terribly wrong with your system I paid my bill you all claim that you did not receive my payments I had to argue with your employees who were very nasty to me and then all of a sudden my payment appear after they told me that I did not make my payment I just paid my bill for April I received a confirmation number and I receive an email telling me that my payment went through a couple of days later I received a message saying that my payment was declined I called my bank and my bank tells me that DTE never put it through
